UCLA & Offensive Coordinator Part Company Ahead of PSU Game

The LA Times reported late Sept. 30 that UCLA and Offensive Coordinator Tino Sunseri had parted company after the Bruins 0-4 start to the season. Reportedly, Jerry Neuheisel will call the plays for UCLA against Penn State this weekend. The Bruins had already replaced head coach DeShaun Foster with interim head coach Tim Skipper after game 3, and are conducting a national search for a new coach. It should be noted that the Transfer Portal window is currently open at UCLA, so there could be activity ahead of the PSU game.

Penn State (3-1, 0-1) will kick off against the UCLA Bruins (0-4, 0-1) on Oct. 4th at the Rose Bowl Stadium at 3:30pm EDT/12:30pm PDT on CBS-TV (Paramount+ streaming). Brad Nessler & Gary Danielson will call the action for CBS. It’s their second Penn State game this fall; they also did the season opener vs. Nevada.

UCLA is calling for this game to be a “Blue Out”. It’s the second meeting of the two schools since UCLA joined the Big Ten in 2024. PSU won their first league meeting 27-11 in the 2024 “Stripe Out” game without the injured Nick Singleton. Penn State’s all-time record vs. UCLA is 3-4. PSU was 2-4 in a six-game home-away series played in 1963-1968.
