Singleton Breaks 3 PSU Career Records
Penn State Senior RB Nick Singleton broke 2 Nittany Lion career touchdown records and the PSU career record for all-purpose yards in the 40-36 victory over Rutgers in Piscataway, NJ on Saturday. Nick rushed for 2 TDs giving him a personal best of 13 on the season. The touchdowns give him 45 rushing TDs in his career which breaks with Saquon Barkley (2015-17) for the all-time mark in this category. Singleton also now has 55 career all-purpose TDs (45 rushing/9 receiving/1 kick return) to also break a tie with Barkley for the school’s all-time best in this category. It was Nick’s 5th game this season with multiple rushing TDs (13th game in his career).
Additionally, Singleton’s 183 all-purpose yards in the win over Rutgers (86 rushing/23 receiving/74 on kick returns) give him 5,586 yards in his career passing the old all-purpose record of 5,538 held by Saquon Barkley.
Singleton also caught 2 passes in the Rutgers game and now has 102 receptions in his career which ties Barkley for the most by a Penn State running back.
Penn State (6-6, 3-6) now awaits a bowl bid on Selection Sunday (Dec. 7). It is unknown whether Singleton will play in the bowl game.
