Kerry Collins QB (1990-94)—Team Captain in 1994

Phil Collins SE/Kick Holder (1990-94)—Phil and Kerry were the only Collins to play their entire careers together at Penn State & they connected on some pass completions, although Phil’s lone career TD catch was from Matt Nardolillo in 1991 vs. Cincinnati

Three Non-Brothers at PSU—

The 2023 roster featured 3 unrelated members of the Wallace ClanCaedan Wallace RT (2019-23), Harrison Wallace III WR (2021-24) and Cam Wallace RB (2023-26)… Prior to these three, only four others named Wallace had lettered for PSU in football, per the Media Guide…

Interesting Family Ties—

Nick Dawkins C (2020-25) is the son of the late Darryl Dawkins of the NBA (aka “Chocolate Thunder” who forced the NBA to adopt flexible rims due to his backboard shattering slam dunks). Dad played for the Philadelphia 76ers (1975-82), and he also played for the NJ Nets, Utah Jazz, and Detroit Pistons, and he appeared with the Globetrotters in 1995. Nick Dawkins wore #53 at Penn State which was his father’s jersey number in the NBA (Nick is also a cousin of former Philadelphia Eagles Safety Brian Dawkins 1996-2008). Nick was “Mr. PA Lineman” in 2019. He won the Wuerffel Trophy in 2024, and he was named to the 2024 AFCA Allstate Good Works Team (also named Captain of that group). In 2025, he was a PSU Team Captain and a nominee for the Campbell Trophy.

Cristian Driver WR (2022-23) is the son of former Green Bay Packers 5-time Pro Bowl WR Donald Driver who played 14 years in the NFL (1999-2012James Franklin was the Packers and Driver’s WR Coach in 2005). At Penn State, Cristian Driver wore the same jersey number (80) his dad wore with the Packers. After appearing in 10 games for PSU (1 reception for 8 yds. in 2023), Driver entered the transfer portal and landed at Minnesota. In 2024, Cristian appeared in Minnesota’s home game vs. PSU rushing once for 4 yards on an end-around (he had no receptions in that game). After not playing a single down for Minnesota in 2025, he re-entered the transfer portal.
