Overtime Career TD Passing Leaders List (OT begins in 1996)—
Christian Hackenberg QB-2 (2013 win vs. Illinois to Kyle Carter TE & 2014 Pinstripe Bowl win vs. Boston College to Kyle Carter TE)—Hackenberg played in 5 OT games in his career (including 2 Whiteouts and 1 Bowl game) winning 3 of them
Sean Clifford QB-1 (2020 loss at Indiana to Parker Washington WR)
Most Career TD Passes by a non-Quarterback (since 1966)—
Mike Archie RB-2 (1994 win vs. Temple at Franklin Field-51 yards to Freddie Scott WR & 1994 win vs. Michigan State-55 yards to Bobby Engram WR)
11 others have done it once—most recent was Tyler Warren TE (2024 win vs. Kent State-17 yards to Nick Singleton RB)—Warren also caught an 11-yard TD pass from Trey Potts RB in 2023 win at Illinois
FYI—The lone PSU QB to catch a TD pass from a non-QB is Christian Hackenberg 14 yards from Nick Scott RB in the 2015 win over Illinois
NOTE: Dick Barvinchak (2 career TD passes) is the only PSU player to throw a TD pass as both a QB and a non-QB—As a back-up QB, Barvinchak threw a 35-yard TD pass to Jim Eaise FL in the 1973 win vs. Army & later as a WR/SE, Barvinchak threw a 30-yard TD pass to Dave Stutts TE in the 1975 win at Syracuse in what is believed to be the first instance of a non-QB TD pass at Penn State during the era of modern QB play. Barvinchak also became the guy to catch the longest pass in PSU history from a QB to a former QB (75 yards from John Andress QB in the 1975 win at Iowa).

Nittany Notes:
Most Passing TDs in a single game—
The record is 5 TD passes set by Tony Sacca in the 1991 Kickoff Classic at the original Giants Stadium vs. Georgia Tech (PS wins 34-22)… The record was matched by Rashard Casey in the 2000 game vs. Louisiana Tech at Beaver Stadium (PS wins 67-7)… The PSU Bowl/Post-Season record is 4…
Interestingly, the Kickoff Classic and its companion game, the Pigskin Classic, were technically “pre-season bowl games” intended to create exciting intersectional matchups for television, and to give teams a way to add a 12th game to their schedules during the era of 11-game regular seasons… The Kickoff Classic at the New Jersey Meadowlands, in fact, was a “better weather” replacement for the struggling end-of-season Garden State Bowl… Penn State took full advantage of these early-season extra games appearing in 4 Kickoff Classics (more than any other school) and it hosted one Pigskin Classic…
Despite not counting bowl game stats in official records prior to the 2002 season, the NCAA had no trouble incorporating these “pre-season bowl” stats into “official” regular season records in the period from 1983 until 2002 when the games were no longer needed because 12-game seasons were beginning to become the norm… So, if these games had been treated like bowls, Tony Sacca’s “official” TD pass total for 1991 would have only been 16, not 21, since his 5 TD passes in the Kickoff Classic would have been “unofficial” just like his 4 TD passes in the 1992 Fiesta Bowl vs. Tennessee (PS wins 42-17)… This is why this site has correctly modified Sacca’s 1991 season TD pass total to 25!
