Penn State’s Bobby Engram & Glenn Killinger on 2027 College Hall of Fame Ballot

Former Penn State Split End Bobby Engram (1991, 1993-95) is one of 80 FBS players who will be considered for election to the National Football Foundation’s College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2027. Engram is PSU’s all-time career leader in receiving yards (3,298 yds. on the Modified/Complete Stats list) and receiving TDs (34). Bobby won the inaugural Biletnikoff Award in 1994 and was a finalist in 1995.

Engram is Penn State’s only receiver to exceed both 3-thousand yards and 30 TD catches in his career. His 183 career receptions are tied for 2nd on the all-time list with Jahan Dotson (2018-21), and his 18.02 yards per catch is third among Penn State receivers with 100+ career receptions (trailing only Kenny Jackson 18.39 YPC & Bryant Johnson 18.25 YPC). Bobby is one of only 2 Nittany Lions with two seasons in excess of one thousand receiving Yards (Allen Robinson 2011-13 is the other). He is the lone Lion to have two games of 200+ receiving yards. And his 4 TD catches vs. Minnesota in 1993 remain the school single game record.

Glenn Killinger (PS QB/HB 1918-21) is one of 39 non-FBS coaches under consideration for the Hall of Fame. Killinger is already in the Hall for his days as a Penn State player (enshrined with the Class of 1971). Glenn was a long-time head coach at West Chester State Teachers College (1934-41, 1945-59) and was also the Golden Rams Athletic Director. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Dickinson (1922), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1927-32), and Moravian (1933). Killinger was also an assistant coach under Hugo Bezdek at Penn State from 1923-26 and was the head coach for the US Navy’s North Carolina Pre-Flight team in 1944. He never had a losing season at West Chester.

2026 CHOF Note: Former Penn State Running Back Ki-Jana Carter (1991-1994) was one of 22 men elected to the National Football Foundation’s College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta as part of its Class of 2026. He will be officially enshrined at a Las Vegas ceremony on Dec. 8, 2026, and will also be honored at a Penn State football game sometime in the 2026 season.
