AJ Harris Removed from PSU Roster

Penn State starting cornerback AJ Harris was removed from the roster on Dec. 22 and various media outlets are reporting that he will enter the Transfer Portal when it opens on Jan. 2. Harris had been projected as a potential first round NFL pick in the pre-season, but he struggled to live up to those expectations. Freshman Daryus Dixson is expected to replace him as a starter for the Dec. 27 Pinstripe Bowl vs. Clemson. AJ who transferred from Georgia to PSU ahead of the 2024 season is believed to still have 1 year of eligibility remaining. Harris was third team All-Big Ten in 2024 and was on 2025 pre-season watchlists for the Bednarik & Nagurski Awards. His lone interception for Penn State was in the 2024 Illinois game.

Harris is the third known PSU defensive player, and fifth player overall, expected to enter the portal along with Chaz Coleman DE & Elliot Washington II CB. All 5 of those players (including Alex Birchmeier OL & Joey Schlaffer TE) are now missing from the Penn State roster.

Also, Alex Tatsch LB is expected to miss the Pinstripe Bowl with an undisclosed injury per On3.
